Brewery X isn’t the kind of place where you pop in for one quiet beer and disappear 20 minutes later. This Anaheim brewery has a big indoor taproom, a sprawling outdoor biergarten, food worth arriving hungry for, and enough going on that a quick stop can turn into an entire afternoon. Bring a group. Maybe don’t volunteer to be the designated driver until you’ve sorted out a ride home.
There is plenty of room to spread out, but don’t mistake that for guaranteed peace and quiet. On busy weekends or event nights, Brewery X can feel more like a party than a neighborhood tasting room. That’s exactly the attraction if you’re meeting friends, watching a game, or celebrating something. If you want to discuss the finer points of a pilsner in hushed tones, you’d be happier visiting at a quieter time.
What should you drink at Brewery X?
IPA fans have options. Slap & Tickle is a West Coast IPA that’s practically a calling card here, and the brewery’s published menu also features Citra Loves Nelson and other rotating hop-forward pours. Prefer something crisp? Look for S.O.K., its Mexican-style lager, or Battlesnakes, a Bohemian pilsner the brewery identifies as a 2022 Great American Beer Festival bronze-medal winner. There are lighter lagers, seasonal surprises, stronger beers, and craft hard seltzers too. The selection changes, so the official beer menu is the place to check before you go.
Come hungry. Seriously.
This isn’t one of those breweries where dinner means a packet of pretzels behind the bar. Brewery X’s X Eats operation serves New York-style pizza, burgers, and other food, with rotating options and a Sunday brunch menu advertised on its website. Recent visitor reviews frequently praise the pizza, especially alongside the West Coast IPAs. If somebody in your group isn’t especially into beer, there’s still a pretty good reason for them to come along.
The atmosphere, according to visitors
The praise tends to follow a pattern: lots of space, plenty of seating indoors and out, a lively crowd, and a brewery that works for gatherings rather than just hardcore beer tastings. There’s a trade-off, though. Recent visitor feedback also describes busy parking and substantial crowds, especially on weekend evenings. In other words, if the parking lot looks like the entire city had the same idea, you’re probably not imagining it.
This is an overview of public feedback, not a claim that we’ve personally visited. Experiences vary, and individual reviews are not guarantees.
