Anaheim’s Packing District is already a pretty good excuse to get out of the house. Add Monkish Brewing’s beer garden to the equation and suddenly the afternoon has a very clear plan. This is Monkish’s Anaheim outpost, a smaller, laid-back counterpart to the brewery’s original Torrance location, with a focus on excellent beer and an easygoing place to enjoy it.

What makes the Anaheim beer garden special?

Monkish describes its Anaheim location as a brewery and beer garden, with both indoor seating and an outdoor patio. Its position by the Anaheim Packing District makes it a convenient stop when exploring the neighborhood. It’s not a complicated destination; it’s the sort of spot where you can settle in, order something interesting and decide whether to stay for another round.

Which beers are worth trying?

Hop fans have plenty to investigate. Monkish’s published Anaheim menu includes WIP, a West Coast IPA built around Mosaic, Motueka and Simcoe hops, and a changing roster of hazy, double and even triple IPAs. If that’s a little more hop intensity than you’re looking for, check for Heart Is Hollow, an unfiltered pilsner, or one of the brewery’s Belgian-inspired offerings such as Song of Silence.

Monkish also lists experimental and barrel-influenced styles alongside its hop-forward beers. The tap list changes, so its official Anaheim beer menu is the source to check before making a trip for a particular release.

Food, dogs and families

The brewery identifies the Anaheim location as kid-friendly and dog-friendly, with indoor and outdoor seating. Monkish does not operate its own kitchen there. Instead, it posts a schedule of visiting food trucks, and it says outside food is allowed. That gives you options, but don’t assume a truck will be on site every day. Check the food-truck calendar before arriving hungry.

Plan your visit

  • Address: 336 S Anaheim Boulevard, Anaheim, CA 92805.
  • Area: Anaheim Packing District.
  • Seating: Indoor space and an outdoor beer garden.
  • Food: Scheduled visiting food trucks; outside food permitted under the brewery’s current policy.
  • Groups: Listed as kid-friendly and dog-friendly; confirm current rules for your visit.
  • Hours and beers: The brewery publishes its current schedule and live beer menu online.

Monkish Anaheim works especially well if you’re pairing a brewery stop with some exploring around the Packing District. Pick a beer, find a spot in the garden and let the afternoon take care of itself.

Planning your visit around the Packing District

Monkish’s Anaheim location has been open since 2021, and the brewery describes it as a relatively intimate beer garden. It’s a very different starting point from a giant entertainment complex. You can pair it with a walk around the Packing District, meet friends for an afternoon drink, or make it a stop on a longer Anaheim beer itinerary.

Because there is both indoor seating and an outdoor patio, you have more than one way to enjoy the setting. The brewery lists families and dogs as welcome, though it’s still sensible to check current policies, particularly for busy events or unusual weather.

IPA heaven, but not only IPAs

The Anaheim beer menu makes Monkish’s hop-forward reputation fairly obvious. WIP is a West Coast IPA brewed with Mosaic, Motueka and Simcoe, while Foggy Window and Geometry of Chance are examples of the brewery’s more potent double IPAs. The latter is listed with Citra, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops.

There’s a lot of range beyond the hazy and hoppy choices. A lighter drinker might choose Heart is Hollow, an unfiltered pilsner, while Song of Silence brings a Belgian-blonde direction. The menu has also featured Gray Day, a farmhouse grisette aged in an oak foudre. It’s worth looking through the whole board rather than stopping at the first IPA you recognize.

How does food work here?

There isn’t a Monkish-operated kitchen at the Anaheim beer garden. Instead, visiting vendors sometimes set up in the parking lot, and outside food is permitted. That flexibility is nice, but the food-truck calendar varies by date and some days have no scheduled truck. Check the official Anaheim food calendar and plan accordingly.

Hours and takeaway beer

Current posted hours are noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, noon to 10 p.m. Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Monkish offers beer to go, including rotating cans and bottles, but the Anaheim menu specifically says growler fills are not available. The brewery publishes separate lists for beers to enjoy onsite and products to take away, which is worth checking before you head over.

For hop lovers, Monkish is an easy Anaheim recommendation. For everyone else, the pilsners, Belgian-inspired beers, outdoor seating, and Packing District location make it a compelling stop without needing to worship at the altar of the triple IPA.

Research notes: Hours, beer examples, seating and family/dog guidance checked against Monkish’s official Anaheim page and official food-truck schedule in November 2026. Tap lists and vendors can change.
